When I Pray Listen to my words, o Lord, and hear my sighs.                                         Ps 5:1 (GNBDC) In the same way the Spirit also comes to help us, weak as we are. For we do not know  how we ought to pray; the Spirit himself pleads with God for us in groans that words cannot express. And God, who sees into our hearts, knows what the thought of the Spirit is...                                                  Rom 8:26-27 (GNBDC) The Conversation Elements From The Conversation  "Powerlessness is our greatest treasure.  Don’t try to get rid of it. Everything in us wants to get rid if it.  Grace is sufficient for you, but not something you can understand.  To be in too big a hurry to get over our difficulties is a mistake  because you don’t know how valuable they are from God’s perspective,  for without them you might never be transformed as deeply and as thoroughly."                                                                                         Thomas

En God, wat die harte deurgrond, weet wat die bedoeling van die Gees is...                                                  Rom 8:26-27 Die Gesprek Elemente Uit Die Gesprek "Powerlessness is our greatest treasure.  Don’t try to get rid of it. So, let's say you have the Scriptures, you have your quiet time with God, and you hear a word. Let's say the text is Jesus saying, "Fear not. Fear not." And in faith, you know that the deathless presence of Jesus, who said that to the disciples, is now saying it to you, telling you not to be afraid. And your heart immediately recognizes it's beautiful, even before you think about it. Prior to reflecting on it, the heart immediately recognizes the beauty of it. And it intuits that it's beautiful because it's true. That I am to fear not, why? "Fear not, because I am with you always. I am with you always, that's why you are not to be afraid." And yo

A Glimpse

I take Steven,  the builder, back home,  his bicycle  on the back of the bakkie. He says  when he is working late, his sister worries. She’s concerned  that he might have been injured during the day. That he has fallen off the scaffolding. When we stop at his house,  his goats and their babies  recognize his voice. In the fading light they come to him.

Ondersteuning Vir Die Restory “Accepting someone’s help is as good as giving someone help.” In ‘n groot mate probeer

Supporting The Restory   “Accepting someone’s help is as good as giving someone help.”                                                                                          Matthew 10:41  (The Message)   The work of The Restory is done for the people, but also through the people. We envisage it to be more so in the years to come. If we want to bring about a change in consciousness, that will alter the way we see ourselves and the world as well as the way we live, the talents, gifts and support of people are needed. The Restory is not sustained by any large institution, foundation, or corporation. From the beginning, we have done the work mainly through generating our own sources of income – restoration projects, markets, pottery workshops, our art. To a very large extent we are still trying to do so, but balancing spiritual support and income generation is not easy and if we’re honest, we barely manage to make ends meet. Our retreats, spiritual direction sessions and workshops als
