From The Restory - Conversations On The Journey (214)

My Purpose The Conversation Elements From The Conversation Music In the song, the "plan" she gives God is a plea for an end. • She is not asking God for a new path, but she is giving God a proposal or a roadmap to end this chapter of suffering ("To close this affair"). • It is an act of surrender: she can no longer bear the weight of the past, so she reaches out and says to the Creator, as it were, "Here's how we can end this pain. Help me to end it." There is an irony in the lyrics. Sometimes the only "plan" we can form is to admit that we have run out of plans. By saying "I'm giving God a plan," she may be saying, "I've decided that this 'affair' with sorrow is over; now God, you have to do the rest to make it happen." It is a shift from passive victim to someone who sets a boundary. May you gradually, through discovery, come home to your purpose. With our love. George & Matilda

Mag jy algaande, ontdekkend, in jou doel tuisko...

Guilt As Motivation The Conversation Elements From The Conversation ~ ❖ ~ "I am convinced that guilt and shame are never from God. They are merely the defenses of the False Self as it is shocked at its own poverty — the defenses of a little man who wants to be a big man. God leads by compassion toward the soul, never by condemnation. If God would relate to us by severity and punitiveness, God would only be giving us permission to do the same (which is tragically, due to our mistaken images of God, exactly what has happened!)." Richard Rohr                 ~ ❖ ~ "It is about as hard to absolve yourself of your own guilt as it is to sit in your own lap. Wrongdoing sparks guilt sparks wrongdoing ad nauseam, and we all try to disguise the grim process from both ourselves and everybody else. In order to break the circuit we need friends before whom we can put aside the disguise, trusting that when they see us for what we fully are, they won't run away ...

Today We're Not Talking The feature that stands out the most for us about Tafelkop is the fog. In the 9 months we have been living here, it has been and is a constant – winter and summer, early morning, late afternoon, at dusk when we go for a walk, then the fog rolls in through the gap where the road goes through Kastrolnek. As if it were constantly pressing against the back of Tefelkop, discovering the opening, breaking through and spilling over roofs, yards, fields. With the thick veil drawn over everything, we know there are still big trees in the lane. We hear them dripping. Other than that, it is dead silent.   In between. Not quite rain and not quite sky. Not totally dark, but not really light either. Early morning recording at Tafelkop - Holy Saturday Today is Silent Saturday.   The foggy day. Somewhere between death and life, where something has passed, but the new is not yet. Where the familiar beacons that provide our coordinates and make us feel safe are gon...
