What The Die Mystics Know Outside? No, inside “First clean the inside of the cup, so that the outside also may become clean.” ‭‭ ‭‭Matthew ‭23‬:‭26‬ ‭NRSV                  ‬ “If your eye is healthy, your whole body is full of light.” ‭‭Luke ‭11‬:‭34‬ ‭NRSV                          The Conversation Elements From The Conversation ~ ❖ ~ The Seventh Angel In Circles In A Forest Daleen Matthee tells the following story: When the earth was finished being created and man came to live on earth, the seven chief angels of heaven gathered to decide on a very serious matter. They had to decide where they could hide the power of God so that man would not get it too soon and misuse it. The first angel suggested that they should hide it on the moon. Yes, on the moon, the others agreed. But the seventh angel said: No, man is clever. One day he will know how to get to the moon; we must l...

‭‭Matteus‬ ‭23‬:‭26‬ ‭AFR20‬                  ‬ “As jou oog suiwer is, is jou hele liggaam ook verlig....”

Gratitude As Motivation “ You don’t get wormy apples off a healthy tree,  nor good apples off a diseased tree.  The health of the apple tells the health of the tree.  You must begin with your own life-giving lives.  It’s who you are,  not what you say and do, that counts.  Your true being brims over into true words and deeds.” ‭‭Luke ‭6‬:‭43‬-‭45 The Message                               ‬‬ ~ ❖ ~ “ My friends, this can’t go on.  A spring doesn’t gush fresh water one day and brackish the next, does it?  Apple trees don’t bear strawberries, do they?  Raspberry bushes don’t bear apples, do they?  You’re not going to dip into a polluted mud hole  and get a cup of clear, cool water, are you?” ‭‭James‬ ‭3‬:‭11‬-‭12‬ ‭The Message‬                             ~ ❖ ~  The Conversation Ele...

‭‭Jakobus‬ ‭3‬:‭11‬-‭12‬ ‭AFR20‬‬                             ~ ❖ ~  Die Gesprek Elemente Uit Die Gesprek 'n Proe aan die lys uit Barbara Ann Kipfer se besondere  14 000 Things To Be Happy About. ~ ❖ ~ "To become fully human  means learning to turn my gratitude for being alive  into some concrete common good.  It means growing gentler toward human weakness.  It means practicing forgive...

New in an old way

We’ve just completed the first unit of our Living School program. Not the easiest of entries I might say. It’s like learning a new language while reading St Bonaventure (1259), The Cloud of Unknowing (late 1300’s) and Teresa of Avila (1577). “It sounds quite boring” you might think. “Being busy with all that old stuff of ancient dead people long forgotten. Their thoughts and words are of no use for us living in the 21 st century; merely the eccentric interest of a few nerds busy naval gazing. There are such a large number of recent exciting authors and books. Why not stick to them? ” I am totally with you on the exciting recent authors and publications. But we are only now discovering the value of the long dead and buried for our survival and for daily living. I experienced it in a very concrete manner again this past week. My brother-in-law William, a budding bee keeper, earlier this year, placed two bee hives close to our vegetable patch. The bees’ presence and cons...
