Vanuit Die Restory - Gesprekke Tussen Reisgenote (114)

Spiritualiteit In Gesprek Met Rolprente Die Gesprek Elemente Uit Die Gesprek Musiek Hierdie musiek uit die Coen broers se rolprent "O Brother, Where Art Thou?"  is 'n mooi voorbeeld van verskillende genres en kreatiewe uitdrukkings wat dikwels in rolprente saamkom. Volgens alle aanduidings het hierdie tradisionele Afro-Amerikaanse spiritual, oorspronklik "The Good Old Way" genoem, sy oorsprong in die Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi area gehad. Alison Krauss het 'n moderne weergawe, "Down to the River to Pray"  vir "O Brother" geskep. George & Matilda

Spirituality In Conversation With Art “All Jesus did that day was tell stories - a long storytelling afternoon.” ‭‭Matt ‭13‬:‭34‬  (The Message)                               The Conversation Elements From The Conversation ~ ❖ ~ “When we move toward our own creativity,  we move toward our Creator.  When we seek to become more spiritual,  we find ourselves becoming more creative.  Our creativity and our spirituality are so closely interconnected  they are in effect one and the same thing.  Speaking of God, we often use the words “Maker” or “Creator”  without recognizing that those  are the terms for “artist.”  God is the Great Artist.  We are creations  and we are intended, in turn, to be creative ourselves.” Julia Cameron                               ~ ❖ ~ What if we were to replace "creative" in the Matisse quote with "spiritual"? Being creative can have a huge impakt on our God-image. Music "Jazz helps us be sensitive to the whole range of existence.  Far

‭‭Matt ‭13‬:‭34‬                                Die Gesprek Elemente Uit Die Gesprek ~ ❖ ~ “When we move toward our own creativity,  we move toward our Creator. We are creations  and we are intended, in turn, to be creative ourselves.” Musiek "Jazz helps us be sensitive to t

Conversations Far and Wide “.......let everyone be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger;” ‭‭ James ‭1‬:‭19‬ NRSV           The Conversation Elements From The Conversation What a synchronicity!  A few moments after we've done the recording of this week's conversation, friends who have recently been to the US, sent us this picture. Even though its specific theme is the Truth Bar in Minneapolis, it has wider applications. Unintentionally it captures a stance that is quite common: Only those who are members of our group have access to the truth. With such an assumption, conversations with someone with another point of view, is not only difficult, but almost impossible. Music As always, with love.  George & Matilda

George & Matilda
