The Restory
A word, a name started to grow where there has never been one. A name that carries within its roots all the elements of our philosophy of life. In naming, it feels like calling this dream into life.
It suggests a place, one of rest. One of recovery and of the reclamation of potential. As is the case with an old worn out piece of furniture that is restored to its former glory.
And it suggests story: the life story of each one of us that unfolds in fascinating detail. To take it even one step further, it resonates with the word re-story. Meaning that the stories of our lives can be revisited, awakened anew or sometimes be rewritten.
In all of this, we see ourselves merely as the custodians of that which has been entrusted to us.
It involves a life lived close to the earth and in tune with the seasons. At a place like The Restory on the farm Rietfontein, we envisage a quiet haven where all these threads are interwoven.
We want to trust this place and the silence. We want to trust that where we are and who we are will be enough. We want to keep listening very carefully to what Love is asking of us.
We have already started with quiet days one weekend per month. Overnight facilities and longer retreats that incorporate creative awakenings are being planned.
